Sentaca Breaks Ground in the Online Gaming & E-Learning Space
On January 28th, Caped Koala Studios, (a spin-off of Sentaca Communications), launched Pora Ora, a 3D virtual world, where children in the primary school age range can learn, interact and play games. Pora Ora is the first of its kind to map all educational content to the national curriculum, allowing Caped Koala Studios to level content according to each user’s own ability and to provide meaningful and accurate reports to parents and teachers.
Pora Ora was introduced to Sentaca’s Innovation Centre as an opportunistic idea which purported to target an increasing gap in the online childrens’ gaming market and as such was put through the rigor of Sentaca’s business validation process. Pora Ora was incubated within the Innovation centre for 6 months whereupon technical and market due diligence were performed and the decision to progress was made. Following the initial proof of concept, it was apparent that the magnitude of the market and technical undertaking for PoraOra warranted its own company to manage and fund its development and so Caped Koala Studios was spun out.
18 Months on, and BETA Pora Ora is live, and gaining traction within the market place. Already attracting interest from schools throughout Europe, Pora Ora is the one to watch within this proven market. CTO of Sentaca Group, Phil Cheetham comments “Pora Ora is a shining beacon of the power and potential an innovation centre can yield. The beta launch of Pora Ora is positive validation to those who operate Sentaca’s Innovation Centre as it is their dedication and expertise that continues to push boundaries and realise visions”.
